Isaac Hihglights

Isaac is crawling like crazy as of last week. He love to play with the buttons on the tv. He has discoverd two very important things: 1) He can control the tv and 2) He can control where he goes. He is so happy exploring everything and tasting everything.
He loves watermelon and can't get enough. I love this video of him attacking his favorite food.
He lo

And they said I would never have my name in lights...

On July 3, 2007, Kevin and I fixed all of the lights in the building to spell words on each side. We spelled PFT, TOPS, WKU and UTT. We had so much fun closing and opening the doors. We had been planning this for months. Maybe we have a bit too much time on our hands.

To see what we could see

Here we are hiking the Mill D Basin up to Desolation Lake in Salt Lake City, Utah. I love Quaking Aspen (the tree behind us) because the quakie clones itself and shares a root system. They are very beautiful trees. On the right, my brother-in-law, Nathan, and I are pretending to be quakies. We had a blast in Utah. Isaac was able to spend time with his grandma and grandpa.

Day 3 and going strong

Kevin is a new man! We went for a walk yesterday and today. He is happier and we spent most of the day outside. It is wonderful! I can't put enough exclamation points in this entry to explain how satisfied I am with this surgery. We were afraid it might not help, but we think that he will be back to how he was when he was 18 (haha). He had his 28th birthday today. Overall a nice day. We have enjoyed all of the love from our family today.

Here is a linkto a video of Isaac laughing. He is so much fun now!

All is well

Kevin has been having back pain for the last couple of years. In January, it worsened and by April he could only walk a few steps without having to rest. Yesterday, he had surgery to repair his herniated disc. He is already feeling better. Last night he was walking better than he has in months. He is still very tender and the incision is sore, but he doesn't have the leg pain or numbness anymore. I think he will be up for hiking soon!
The surgeon was very pleased with the surgery. He said that it went as best as it could have and that Kevin should recover nicely. Through all of this, we have learned that Kevin is very healthy besides the back. All of the doctors, nurses, students, etc. have made fun of him because of his lame back injury story and because he is so young. Kevin hurt his back getting out of our Chevy Cavalier (sans Isaac). It is a pretty lame way to get injured at any age. ;)
We are very blessed. This surgery has come at a good time and I know that Kevin is in God's hands right now. We have felt Him through this whole process. We are grateful for the prayers and support from our friends and family. Thank you for being there for us.

Quick Update

Kevin and I welcomed our son, Isaac Luther Utt, to the world on September 26, 2006. He was 10 lbs. 3 oz. and 22 inches long. We are proud of our big boy. We enjoy being parents and living in Bowling Green Kentucky. Kevin is a coordinator of the 27 story residence hall. His office is 10 steps away from our apartment. Isaac loves having his dad so close. He looks forward to lunch when Kevin comes home to eat and play with him.
Isaac is now six months old. He is sitting up and laughing all of the time. He has his two bottom teeth and is working on the top two. He jabbers and tries to tell you how he feels. He mostly grunts, but he will say "mum" when he is poopy. He likes to eat, take baths and be outside. His newest obsession is "Elmo's World." The picture above is when he was a newborn and below he is six months old.
